(2-20-10) - The Celina Bulldogs finished in 3rd place behind Bath and Wapak at the Shawnee D2 Sectional today.

1st place went to Alex Dues at 152# and Derick Minch at 160#. 2nd place went to Curtis Doner at 135#, Chad Braun at 140#, Alex Minch at 215#, and Cody Welker at 285#. 3rd place went Zach Cozadd at 145#. 5th place went to Adam Cron at 112# and Joe Bonvillian at 119#.

Celina Beats Bath For WBL Win

(2-19-10) - Celina Bulldogs won a WBL match-up over the Bath Wildcats last night at the Celina Fieldhouse 70 - 45. The Celina JV also won their game over Bath 41-36.

CELINA BULLDOGS GET WIN OVER SHAWNEE INDIANS

(1-29-10) The Celina Bulldogs played the Shawnee Indians at the Celina Field House Friday night.  All of Coach Bihn’s Varsity players again played a part in this win. The competitive spirit of the two teams and the support and school spirit shown by the students from Celina and Shawnee were displayed from start to finish. Thanks to both Celina and Shawnee for a true display of WBL sportsmanship. The final score for the Varsity game was Celina 81 and Shawnee 60.  The JV game was also won by Celina and Coach Smith used all the JV players in the win! Thank you, Bulldogs, for another exciting night of basketball!

CELINA BULLDOGS WIN BATTLE OF GRAND LAKE

(1-15-10) -In WBL action last night the Celina Bulldogs played the St. Marys Roughriders before a packed house at the St. Marys High School. All Celina Varsity players played a part in this win. Celina’s Coach Bihn used all the varsity players on the floor during the game! The competitive spirit of the two teams and the support and school spirit shown by the students from both schools were displayed from start to finish. This was enjoyed by the students and the spectators! Thanks to both Celina and St. Marys for a true display of sportsmanship. The cheerleaders from Celina and St. Marys performed a cheer and dance together at half time. The final score for the Varsity game was Celina 62 and St. Marys 27. The score of the JV game was St. Marys 34 Celina 33.

Dues Nursery Super-Tri Meet

The Celina “Matdogs” wrestling team hosted the Dues Nursery Super-Tri meet at the Celina High School gym on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. The senior wrestlers were introduced and escorted by their parents. The graduating senior wrestlers are: Adam Cron, son of Joe and Kim Cron; Alex Dues, son of Mike and Julie Dues; Derek Minch, son of Harold & Sue Minch; Ricky Dryer, son of Doug & Shelly Moorman; and Codey Welker, son of Carey & Ellen Welker. The senior statisticians are Meagan Stoker, daughter of Lloyd and Vicki Stoker, and Cassandra Chittum, daughter of Parish and Caroline Chittum.

The final standings of the meet: Elida High School 1st place; Delphos High School 2nd place; Celina High School 3rd place, and Arcanum High School 4th place.

The Celina “Matdogs” are guided by Tim Doner, Coach, who is in his 15th year of coaching; Terry Wagner, Assistant Coach, in his 22nd year of coaching, along with Stu Wagner, Volunteer Coach.

MEET WRESTLERS NIGHT HUGE SUCCESS

The annual Meet the Wrestlers Night was held Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at the Celina High School gym. Pork chop and chicken dinners prepared by 2 Willys were served prior to the event.
